Hey, how are you? Thank you for getting on board! GK: Of course! Thanks for asking. Apologies on the delay, my life has been crazy the last few weeks. How have you been feeling lately? I’ve been feeling really great. I love the summer and I am getting ready for a few trips that I am super excited about. What’s your favorite part of the day? I love mornings. I naturally wake up really early and enjoy the quiet time. I like spending my mornings alone. How do you start your day or what’s your morning routine like?
I usually wake up and let my dog out, we then immediately get back in bed together and stay there for a while. I will brush my teeth, take him for a walk, feed him, then start by checking my emails. Even though I am always up early, I like slow mornings.

What motivates you? Authenticity. Staying true to myself and moving in the direction that feels right. You are of mixed race which is so interesting. How did this affect your identity? Sometimes I feel like I’m in a grey area. I’m adopted as well. My biological mom is Chicana and my biological father is West Asian. I was adopted by incredible white parents and was culturally raised in that world. That being said I don’t think that devalues my experience as a Chicana woman.
