"More than houses, what I look at are the places where I could make a home for myself" Bilbo García Conde, architect, has transformed an old warehouse to create his home in Vallecas. It is a transgressive space, very different from the idea of an old house, which gives a touch of colour that the grey neighbourhood needed. It is located in a brick building from the 1930s that has been shapeshifted to resemble nothing less than a spaceship. As soon as we arrive we find the graffiti at the entrance that distinguishes it from the rest of the house. Moving around inside the space also includes a novel touch: stairs that separate the floors completely by not reaching the ground, so that each one is understood as its own entity. And inside the rooms, incredible furniture, unique searches, colour and a terrace and swimming pool that will make you never want to leave. A special home without losing warmth, fun and even the tenderness that overflows the whole project.

One part that stands out a lot is the connection with space. This is a project that is very much related to distance, despite the fact that building from the ground is an earthly act. Bilbo tells us: "I have always been attracted to the spatial, although not always as it is understood in itself, but as the most spatially known era, in which all objects were related to spatial forms, and at the same time plastics, foams, etc.
