HOMETOWN

Photography: Meghan Mathews

Concept & Storytelling: Mariana Costa Fonso

A photo story of how our roots and memories can inspire creativity and form artistic expression. This project began as a poetic visual of Mariana's experience and journey with endometriosis.

In the heart of Portugal where this reflection unfolds, it brings to mind the longing to reconnect with our heritage and inner child, demonstrating that this process is deeply linked to self-expression. Guiding us in the essence of how our traditions can profoundly impact us to come forward and overcome.

Through the narrow streets of the small village, we feel the invitation to rediscover the family ties that formed us into our current self. My home town, it is an escape, a comfort, a sensory connection... a breeze of fresh air.
